Hut info & team

Original hut text (taken verbatim)
Our Hermann-von-Barth Hut (HvB Hut for short) is a Category I Alpenverein hut. It is located at an altitude of 2,131 meters above sea level, making it the highest refuge hut in the Allgäu Alps. Located above the village of Elbigenalp, centrally on the main high-altitude trail of the Hornbach chain between the Kemptner Hut and Kaufbeurer Haus, it is a worthwhile destination for day trips. The immediate surroundings offer plenty of summit destinations and climbing routes of all levels of difficulty. The sun terrace offers a panoramic view of various 3,000-meter peaks. In addition to a cozy dining room, the child-friendly hut offers approx. 70 beds, a winter and group room, a drying room, and plenty of Tyrolean hospitality. Three points we'd like to draw your attention to: • Please don't forget your sleeping bag liner; it's mandatory. • Please take your trash back down to the valley with you. • We don't have showers, but we do have nice washing facilities and plenty of warmth and hospitality. Here are our cancellation policies: • Cancellations up to 7 days before arrival: free of charge. • Cancellations 6 to 3 days before arrival: €10 per person per night. • Cancellations 2 days before arrival: €15 per person per night. • No-shows: €20 per person per night. The cancellation period is calculated from 6:00 PM on the day of arrival. The above-mentioned period begins upon receipt of the guest's written cancellation by the hut manager. If you would like to be put on the waiting list because your preferred date is already booked, you can add yourself to the waiting list directly through the system. PLEASE NOTE: Being on the waiting list does not automatically guarantee you a place to stay. We will inform you by email if a place becomes available and we can make a confirmed booking for you.
