About the route

The limestone towers of Rofan — Rofanspitze and Hochiss — rise directly above the turquoise waters of Lake Achensee. Accessible by cable car, this is the ideal quick weekend escape with spectacular views for minimal effort. An excellent introduction to hut-to-hut hiking. The route passes through Erfurter Hütte and Bayreuther Hütte and works perfectly as an accessible weekend trek in the Rofan area (Brandenburg Alps). Total distance 25 km with approximately 900 m of elevation gain; 2 days with 2 nights in alpine huts. Best season is July to September.
