About the route

High alpine world of 3000m peaks in the Stubai Alps, away from glacier crowds. The crossing of Zischgenscharte pass (2900 m) is the highlight of the route. For experienced hikers — a serious alpine weekend, not a casual walk; expect snow patches early in the season. The route passes through Westfalenhaus and Pforzheimer Hütte and works perfectly as a challenging alpine weekend trek in the Sellrain area (Stubai Alps). Total distance 27 km with approximately 1600 m of elevation gain; 2-3 days with 2 nights in alpine huts. Best season is July to September.
